Perfumer's Notes

When I started researching Italian essential oils, I discovered a lavender farm in the Chianti region of Tuscany. I often traveled to the area, so I visited the growers and had a sniff for myself. Lavender essential oil can be wonderful, but it can also be very bad and often adulterated to cut costs. Their lavender cultivar "Selezione" was absolutely amazing - a symphony of well-rounded aromatics, with no strange ‘soapy’ notes. I had to go back home and create something with it.

Traditional Fougère accords are centered around lavender, so that’s where I started. We have a head of lavender and bergamot for a grand opening, floral notes of cananga in the heart, and an exquisite base of powdery tonka, sticky benzoin resin, and sweet musks.


The other key element of Fougère is oakmoss - a material that is a staple in traditional perfumery but has become heavily restricted due to skin sensitization. I decided to be creative and replaced it with green tea absolute (a.k.a. matcha). Surprisingly, it worked.

LAVANDER OIL (Lavandula angustifolia)
grown organically in the Chianti hills of Tuscany.


This premium lavender has been grown, harvested, and distilled since 1962 by a third-generation family business in the Chianti region of Tuscany. Flowering occurs between late June and early July, that’s when harvesting begins: flowers and stems are gathered and immediately brought to the distillery. The plant must be processed fresh, and the entire process takes place locally, on the very same hill!

The lavender is certified organic. No fertilizers or herbicides are used, and irrigation isn’t even necessary. Cultivation is so natural that red poppies often grow among the rows, natural indicators of healthy soil.


This perfume contains the essential oil extracted by steam distillation from their ‘Selezione’ cultivar, renowned for its exceptional quality and rich, well-rounded, smooth aromatic profile, free from harsh or soapy notes.

Matcha di Narici Milano è l'esempio di come Profumi ben costruiti e materie elevate, non abbiano bisogno di fronzoli. Una fragranza magnetica. Davvero una bomba!

Un capolavoro

Matcha è senza dubbio il mio preferito della collezione. Mi riporta a uno dei miei ricordi più belli di quando ho vissuto in Giappone: le crêpes al gelato al tè verde e panna che non vedevo l’ora di gustare durante le pause dal lavoro a Yokohama. Questi momenti di dolcezza si intrecciavano con passeggiate assolate alla scoperta della città, un mix di serenità e meraviglia. L'equilibrio della fragranza è perfetto perché sa davvero di matcha, catturandone l'essenza autentica. Anche se a volte la lavanda emerge un po’ di più, la fava tonka dona un tocco morbido che rende il tutto incredibilmente armonioso. È un profumo che mi fa viaggiare, sia nei ricordi che nei sensi, per me un capolavoro.

REALLY Matcha-like

It is REALLY matcha-like. Super green. I really like it. It's so different. I think it's delicious, grows on me more and more. 10/10 On the skin impressions: This is my favourite. It immiediately transports me back to the tea houses of Kyoto. Light and sophisticated with a real matcha note. The matcha doesn't last as long as the rest of the notes in the scent on my skin. It gives me onsen vibes. It has a light spice in the background.
