Narici N°1

When I developed this formula, I immediately felt I had something special in my hands. Every time I wore it, I received compliments in the elevator: “What is this perfume? Where can I get it?” I would consider this my ‘elevator pitch’ product for the entire brand.

This perfume is the progenitor of Narici — it’s where it all started. I like to describe this as a ‘skin perfume.’ It contains a notable amount of Iso E Super, a molecule invented in 1973, often described as soft, warm, velvety, and intimate. It’s frequently compared to the scent of warm skin, creating a “you but better” aura. It develops uniquely on each wearer, leaving a personalized trail.

Technically, this is a reinterpretation of the Grojsman accord, a blend of four molecules (including Iso E Super) that, in perfect proportions, create a synergistic base. However, what truly sets it apart is the exquisite blend added to this base: eternal sweet-woody sandalwood, styrax (a.k.a. liquid amber), and the real magic ingredient - sesame absolute.

Sesame absolute is not readily available to artisan perfumers, so we commissioned a batch from a small group of producers in Ispica, Sicily.

These farmers are preserving a unique cultivar of sesame that dates back to the Arab period on the island. Their sesame is so exceptional that it is recognised as a Slow Food Praesidium.

Before the extraction, we roast the sesame for a precise duration to trigger a Maillard reaction, enhancing the profile with a nutty, crunchy aroma. The result is irresistible: a completely vegan animalic note, almost feral and primordial. Strangely, it also has hints of popcorn.
