Diamante

This perfume shines bright like a diamond, radiating light in every direction with many unique facets. But there’s another reason it’s called Diamante - Italian for “diamond.”

It features citron essential oil from the rare Diamante variety, cultivated in Santa Maria del Cedro, Calabria. Known as Cedro in Italian, this large, fragrant citrus with a thick, bumpy rind is traditionally candied and used in cakes. The Diamante citron is cherished for its ancient lineage, preserved through traditional cultivation methods, and protected by its D.O.P. status.

Citron has deep historical significance across the Mediterranean, symbolizing health, wealth, and prosperity. For Jewish communities, it holds sacred significance during Sukkot, when rabbis travel to Calabria to inspect and select the most perfect fruits for export worldwide.

This is not just another citrus perfume. It’s a powdery delight with a zesty, cologne-like opening, a floral geranium and aromatic basil heart, and a velvety base of orris butter and heliotrope. It feels like a veil of vintage cosmetic powder—fluffy, comforting, and clean, like fresh linen under the Italian sun.

The citron of Santa Maria del Cedro is one of the most prized citrus fruits in the world, cultivated according to centuries-old traditions and favoured by a unique microclimate between sea and mountains.

The plants grow in rows protected by frames, sheltered from wind and bad weather, and the fruits are carefully selected to ensure their shape, quality, and unmistakable aroma. Each plant is monitored daily, with unwanted leaves or flowers removed and fruits that grow too close to one another separated, in order to obtain uniform, glossy citrons—perfect for transformation into essential oil or other culinary uses.

With a millennia-old history, the “Diamante” variety today enjoys D.O.P. recognition. The essential oil is rich and complex, with fruity lime notes, floral nuances of bergamot, and lemon undertones, enriched by a subtle powdery character reminiscent of vanillin and coumarin.
