Narici Milano at Milan Design Week 2026: Animale Sociale ft. Casaornella
During Milan Design Week 2026, Narici Milano took part in Casaornella, one of the most distinctive spaces for contemporary design and artistic research in Milan.
For the occasion, the Milan-based niche fragrance brand introduced Animale Sociale, a limited-edition scent developed in collaboration with Maria Vittoria Paggini, founder of Casaornella. A project conceived to reflect the relationship between the individual and the collective, between instinct and cultural construction — and to explore how fragrance can become a language in contemporary design.
Narici at Casaornella during Milan Design Week
Casaornella is more than a location; it is an environment designed to foster interaction and exchange. During Milan Design Week, the space became a point of connection where visitors could experience design, art, and scent in a continuous dialogue.
As a Milan-based niche perfume brand, Narici Milano entered this context by transforming fragrance into a shared, immersive experience — moving beyond its traditional, private dimension.
Animale Sociale: a niche fragrance inspired by instinct and connection
Animale Sociale is built on a balance of tensions: matter and structure, instinct and composition.
The fragrance combines the animalic depth of cumin, oud, and vegan civet with brighter, more social notes of fresh guava and Tuscan lavender. A composition designed not as a decorative element, but as a living presence — accompanying Casaornella throughout the entire duration of Milan Design Week.
“I wanted a fragrance that felt physical. Instinctive. Almost animal. Not decorative, but carnal. An olfactory trace capable of anticipating presence, evoking the social animal that inhabits the body before the mind. Together with Narici, we transformed this vision into a primordial signal: something perceived through instinct, before memory, before words. A fragrance that amplifies space and makes it alive.”
— Maria Vittoria Paggini, founder of Casaornella
A synesthetic approach to fragrance and design
As with all Narici Milano creations, the project is rooted in a careful selection of Italian mono-origin ingredients, chosen for their distinct identity and traceable origin. Each raw material maintains its own voice, contributing to a composition that evolves over time — on the skin and in space.
“Interpreting this concept through a synesthetic approach was a real creative challenge. I wanted to combine seemingly distant accords — tropical fruits with the animalic intensity of cumin and oud. Just as in design, the dialogue between different worlds can lead to a new equilibrium.”
— Alessandro Commisso, perfumer at Narici Milano
Beyond Milan Design Week: scent as a spatial medium
More than a fragrance, Animale Sociale becomes a medium — a way of activating space, shaping perception, and redefining the role of scent within a contemporary design context.
Milan Design Week is, by nature, an intense and temporary moment. For Narici Milano, however, it represents an opportunity to explore new forms of expression, connecting Italian craftsmanship, niche perfumery, and contemporary culture.
An experience that continues to evolve beyond Casaornella, shaping the future of Narici Milano’s approach to fragrance.
